A role in technical sales combining management of a portfolio of major clients and targeted development of new business, in a collaborative and stimulating environment.
The role reports directly to the sales director and consists of:
Taking over a solid portfolio of major clients (contractors, engineering firms, consulting engineers)
Developing strategic relationships on large-scale projects (hospitals, industrial buildings, major infrastructures)
Collaborating in a culture that promotes collective success and the sharing of expertise.
Active and structured portfolio → not a pure prospecting role, but a balance between managing existing clients (70%) and targeted development (30%).
Hybrid and flexible context → planned travel between Montreal and Ottawa, allowing for a good office/field/remote work balance.
Strong collaboration → continuous support from the internal team, valuing ongoing training and recognition of technical expertise.
Manage and develop a portfolio of strategic clients (contractors, engineers, consulting firms).
Identify new business opportunities (≈ 30% of the role).
Present and recommend HVAC technical solutions tailored to client needs.
Be able to propose products to engineering firms and contribute to the design of mechanical systems with them.
Collaborate with the internal sales team to ensure optimal customer service.
Conduct client and site visits as needed.
Participate in technological monitoring and product positioning in the market.
Ensure rigorous follow-up on projects and negotiate commercial terms.
5 years or more of experience in external representation or business development in a technical environment.
Excellent knowledge of HVAC and hydronic plumbing (water-based heating/cooling).
Knowledge of boilers is a major asset.
Relevant technical training (e.g. DEC in building mechanics or equivalent).
Profile engineer or very technical: able to engage with consulting firms and provide added value in design.
Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with a professional clientele.
Autonomy, rigor, effective planning, and a consultative approach.
Bilingualism in French/English (written and oral).
Base salary $70,000 to $100,000, depending on experience + collaborative commissions.
